increased GLC > GLC not absorbed by cells > GLC in urine > creates osmotic drag > increases H2O drawn into urine > more urine passed > drinking too much

bloods - GLC, GLC tolerance, glycated haemoglobin
urine dipstick

1) glycated haemoglobin in diabetics?
A
HBA1c is constantly elevated

1) BG test - when to do it?
A
during post-absorptive phase - i.e. fasting

what is CAPD and what’s it used to treat?
