coagulative necrosis w/ loss of nuclei and striations, interstitial infiltrate of PMNs

beginning disintegration of dead myofibers with dying PMNs, macrophages w/ phagocytosis of dead cells
7-10 d
well-developed phagocytosis of dead cells early formation of fibrovascular granulation tissue at margins
2-8 wks
well-established granulation tissue with new blood vessels and inc collagen deposition w/ dec cellularity
