BEFORE LEAVING FLIGHT DECK

  • Repeat pre-flight if unsure if omitted or checked unobserved.
  • Point out incorrect ancillary control.
  • Any failure NOT requiring complete retest: If time permits, retest.
  • If retest successful: No 529, but record fail/retest on PC form.
  • If no time: Record fail.
  • If failure due to circumstances beyond control of candidate: No fail, but arrange for retest of that particular section.

  • Inform candidate: Unsuccessful.
  • State major fail points in order of importance.
  • Comment test in chronological order, stating weakness, how to remedy. Avoid criticism of minor nature.
  • State retest requirements and how to prepare.
  • Remind not to exercise privileges until successful retest.
  • Complete N of F DCA 529, countersigned. Copy to candidate, CAD, examiner/employer.
  • Inform 14 days to appeal against CONDUCT, not result.
