- James Klinge or Klingatron
- this art itself is quite rare as whilst James Klinge normally paints in black and white, the colourful circles around the subject attract the eye directly to the subject’s face.
- he used hand cut stencils to create detail (just look at the jeans). its a photorealist style
- after graduating art college with a degree in illustration and printmaking, james realised that he would much prefer a career as an artist than an illustrator
- enthralled by the challenge of capturing intense and intricate detail from hand cutting multi-layered stencils , Klinge has built a career that has allowed him to work with global brands and exhibit his work accross the UK: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol and London as well as internationally in several cities in australia.
- James describes the process of creating his work as an unconscious experience because he does not sketch out paintings but attacks the canvas with striking blows.

the arches

initially this derelict underpass area was converted at the beginning of the 90s to house an exhibition focusing on Glasgow during the city’s time as the European City of Culture.
- Following this the arches became a popular music venue and hosted multiple club nights.
- In 2007 it was named the 12th best club in the world by DJ magazine. The club closed in 2015 after the city’s council insisted it closed at midnight due to drug abuse and public disorder, making club nights an impossibility.
- the controversial venue reopened 3 years later in 2018 as an eatery and street vendor market called platform. (highly recommend!)
