it’s a sexually transmitted disease, people can pass it on to their partners and also the children they have.
what happens to children with aids?
- children that are born with AID’s will not grow properly and by the time they are at working age they could be in critical condition
= means less people helping the economy
what is the health care like in botswana?
the health care in Botswana is really bad - Botswana already has economic problems and the government aren’t able to provide good health care
- poverty also worsens the conditions (making more people sick = less health care available)
how can AID’s be treated?
AID’s can be treated with medicine but there isn’t a cure
- everyone in the country knows very little about AID’s and also prevention techniques

have to work at a younger age
- AIDS can cause harm to infants
what happens to the elderly population bc of AIDS?
- may have to work to earn money bc their children have AIDS
- take care of younger children
- less health care for them
