Q

How does urbanisation affect the population

A

Birth rate rises as more people have an access to medical care in cities rather than rural areas. This the infant mortality rate will fall which increases the birth rate.

Birth rates may fall in the long term as it is easier to have “family planning”.

Death rates fall as it is cheaper and easier to receive medical attention and education services. More reliable food supplies.

28
Q

How does Agriculture affect the population

A

More food is being produced than ever before

Frees up workers on the farm which goes into industry, rising the birth rate

29
Q

How does eduction affect the population

A

If people know about hygiene, death rates will fall.

People tend to have fewer children they can focus their resources on improving the lives of those few children.

30
Q

How has emancipation of women affected the population

A

Delays child bearing age
Women are much more likely to go to university and work for a few years before having their first child which results in fewer women being born per women as fertility declines the older you get.
