A
  • CXR
  • Pelvis X-ray
  • Lateral C-spine
  • FAST (focused abdominal sonography for trauma) U/S if pt remains shocked, to look for intra-abdominal bleeding

What bloods need to be done?

A
  • Hgt
  • Hb (followed by FBC if low)
  • Cross match
  • U&E
  • ABG (if ventilated)
  • Pregnancy (childbearing aged females)

What tubes need to be inserted?

A
  • 2x large bore IV lines (peripheral first, central if needed - subclavian/jugular)
  • Nasogastric tubes (exclude base of skull fracture first)
  • Urinary catheter (obtain dipstix)
