Separation in party but more partisan in votes
e.g. trump tax cuts and obamacare

Johnsons civil rights measure like civil rights 1964 voting act in 1965 relied on the republicans to get legislation e.g. senate 84% of reps backed it vs 69% of dems which is unthinkable in 20th century
Class and education for republicans?
White old, blue collar voters
Less educated so Trumps ideology’s best fit them (Reason for H Clinton failed in 16 primary’s 62% of women)

Even though increase in rising between 1990-2007 life expectancy, increase in white men w/o high school le shortened by 2 yrs
Class and education democrates?
In 1980 dems in ne and mid west were blue collar jobs, in rust belt areas, voters rejected Jimmy Carter leading them to turn to Republican candidate Regan, but democrats switched when Obama and Clinton
-Trump winning in 2016 primaries and general election in rust belt winning 6 primaries and 7 states winning 4 of Obamas states

Supports Catholics due to relation of Irish Americans in North Rats but changed to abortion stance so drawn to republicans 45% votes in 2016

The higher religious attendance most likely to be republicans 56%
Religion- protestant and white evangelic?
Republican believes 54% or 59% in last 5 election
White evangelic more support 81% vote Trump have garnered support in the SC
Gender?
9/10 of elections women more supportive of dem candidate e.g. Trump women 41% men 52% Hillary women 54% men 41%. Could be because of the rude remarks Trump makes about women
