Nation
Compromised of a group of people that share a territory, identity, and a strong sense of unity
State
An area with political boundary (can also be referred to as a country)
Nation-state
When a nation and a state occupy the same territory
Democracy
A form of government where people hold the power
Monarchy
A form of government where there is a ruling family headed by a king or queen
Dictatorship
A form of government where an individual or group has all the power
Communism
A government and economic system. All political power and means of production are held by the government.
Land locked
Almost or entirely surrounded by land, having no coastline or seaport
Stateless Nation
When a nation does not have an official territory
Artificial Boundary
Boundaries or boarders that are made up by humans
Natural boundary
Boundaries or boarders made up by physical features
Economy
The state of a country or region in terms of the production and consumption of goods, services, and the supply of money
Command Economy
An economy in which production, investment, prices, and incomes are determined centrally by a government (communism)
Market Economy
An economy that relies chiefly on market forces to allocate goods and resources and to determine prices
Natural Resources
Materials or substances such as minerals, forests, water, and fertile land that occur in nature and can be used for economic gain (renewable, non-renewable, or inexhaustible)
