- Depopulation of villages
- The men used to migrate and when they had enough money return, now they stay in the UK
- Birthrates fall because the men aren’t around to repopulate
- Young people leave aging communities behind
- Women outnumber men and they have problems finding suitable marriage partners

- No so overcrowded and less deman on services

- They cost money to health and social services
- They send money OUT the country

- Good work ethic → long hours
- Some highly trained and are needed
