PMAT Flashcards
1
Q
What is the firat phase before PMAT?
A
Interphase
2
Q
What happen in early prophase?
A
- Nucleolus dissolves, releasing the dna
- chromatin of the nucleolus forms the chromosomes of dna
- chromosomrs starts to coil up and become shorter and thicker and visible
- centrioles replicates
- nuclear envelope presents
3
Q
What happens in late prophase?
A
- nuclear envelop breaks up
- microtubules reach from each cell pole to the cell’s equator
- chromosomes bein to migrate toward the cell center
4
Q
What happens during metaphase?
A
Chromosomes align along equator of the spindle attached by their centromeres to the spindle
5
Q
Anaphase
A
- chromosomes split at centromere and the daughter chromatids move to the end of cell
- spindle fibers shorten
6
Q
Telophase
A
Nucler envelope reforms around chromosomes and become visible in each daughter nucleus. Chromosomes begin to unwind back ro chromatin. The spindle breaks apart.
