• 20-25 senior govt ministsers who are head of departments of state
• Meets every thursday for up to 2 hours, can be summoned on a crisis
• Pm sets agenda, chaors and sumps up meetings and approves cabinet secretary minuites
• Pm selects first cabinet at start of premirship
• PM can reshuffle replacing incomptent ministsers
• Expected to publicly support govt decisions under cma and should resign and join back bench if they want to criticse

• Approve govt decisions, ensures unity and legitimacy
• How govt determine business
• Settle disputes between departme t of state with court of appeal
• Determine key policy issues
• PM often chairs important issues cabinet committees
• Appoint cabinet commitees to develop and implement specific polices which enhances priministerial authority
