What is a sail switch?
The sail switch senses when the blower motors fan is moving air at the proper speed. If the switch does not sense proper fan speed, the furnace will not fire.
What is a limit switch?
A limit switch is a component of a forced air furnace. That is responsible for turning on the furnace blower once the desired temperature in the furnace has been met. Without a working limit switch, a furnace would not be able to regulate the temperature in conjunction with the thermostat.
