Revised Knox Preschool Play Scale (RKPPS)

A

observations of play skills to diff delay, play abilities, and interest areas
two 30 minute periods of observations are completed indoors/outdoors
organized according to 6 month increments up to 3 years
four dimensions of play: space management, material mgmgt, pretense/symbolic (including imitation), and participation
scoring: mean scores provide a play age score indicative of child’s play maturity
population: 0-6 years
