Plant cell (eukaryotic cell). Flashcards
Plant cell organelles.
Cell wall.
Vacuole.
Chloroplasts.
Plasmodesmata.
No centrioles.
Cell wall structure and function.
S: Made of cellulose.
F: Maintains the shape of the cell.
Vacuole (permanent) structure and function.
S: Contains lots of water and minerals (sap), surrounded by a membrane (tonoplast).
F: Stores the cell sap.
Chloroplasts structure and function.
S: 70s ribosomes, Outer membrane, Inner membrane, Intermembrane space, Loop of DNA, Lipids and Starch (store glucose when too much is made), Thylakoids (stack is called a grana), Lamallae (joins thylakoids together), Stroma (own cytoplasm).
F: Photosynthesis to produce glucose.
Plasmodesmata structure and function.
S: A gap in the cell wall.
F: For diffusion between cells.
