- increased employment and wealth to community
- increased level of hygiene through disposable products
- many products make life easuer and mroe enjoyable for people
negatives :
- increased waste and landfill
- contributes to the pollution of air water and land
- uses up resources, materials and water etc
- requires a lot of energy
