how does age affect perception of places
spaces gain value after hanging out at them especially as children. Places can be nostalgic. Children don’t associate money with areas but adults do.
how does gender affect place perception
women tend to avoid areas they view as threatening as 97% of women in the UK have been sexually harassed.
how does sexuality affect place perception
gay men often form inner city networks. Whereas lesbian communities are normally through social networks.
how does role affect place perception
children are treated as if they have a lac of knowledge and experience but they know local knowledge and incidents of danger which they associate with places.
how does ethnicity affect place perception
people may face racial discrimination. Some places it is harder to follow religious diets such as being halal. Many may be treated differently when wearing religious clothes e.g. wearing a hijab.
