Physical activity - any body movement produced by the skeletal muscles that require energy

Physical - improves sleep, increased life expectancy
Intellectual - learn new skills, helps with memory
Emotional - increase self-esteem, improved body image
Social - meeting new people, involved in competitions
Physical disabilities
a disability that limits an individuals physical or mobility capacity. It can be caused by a disease, accident or genetic
What is a life limiting condition?
an illness that can’t be cured, and an individual is likely to die from
Examples - cancer, motor neurone, kidney disease
Dementia - a ongoing decline of the brain functioning
Physical - mobility can decrease
Intellectual - loss of cognitive functioning
Emotional - have less control over their feelings
Social - social isolation
Down syndrome - a genetic condition which happens when you are born with extra chromosomes
Physical - slower rate of meeting milestones
Intellectual - experience slower learning and development
Emotional - experience mental health disorders
Social - struggle making friends
Respiratory disease
affects the organs and tissues that help you breath
Coronary heart disease
when your heart’s blood supply is blocked or interrupted by a build up of fatty substances in the coronary arteries

a baby’s spine and spinal cord does not develop properly in the womb, causing a gap in the spine
