Physcology Flashcards
What are the five stages of Bandura’s model of observational learning?
- Demonstration
- Attention(performer selectively attends to important aspects)
- Retention (learner needs to remember)
- Motor reproduction (capable of matching the demonstration)
- Motivation ( learner must have drive)
How can a coach ensure the learner is attending to important aspects of the demo?
- Highlight key aspects using verbal guidance
* Demo given by role model (authority, have meaning to the individual)
How can a coach ensure that the learner has remembered the important aspects of the demonstration?
- Repetition of demo will assist memory
* Use catch phrases
How can a coach ensure that the learner is able to match the demonstration?
- Ensure learner is physically capable
* Ensure learner has the mental capacity
How can a coach ensure that the learner is motivated to learn the skill being demonstration?
Can use praise and positive reinforcement to encourage drive to copy the model
What is the law of effect?
If behaviour is reinforced then the learning bond is strengthened. This can be done through positive reinforcement or the presentation of a satisfier
What is the law of exercise?
The S-R learning bond will be strengthened by practice and repeated reinforcement
What is the law of Readiness?
If reinforcement is to strengthen the S-R learning bond the performer must be physically and mentally capable of performing the skill
