Q

Where is light energy captured

A

In Photosystems. These are protein complexes in the thylakoid membrane that contain chlorophyll. This produces high energy e- that travel through photosynthetic e- transport chain.

9
Q

What is the origin of chloroplasts and mitochondria

A

Both used to be their own separate cell until they were engulfed by another. Instead of being digested they were integrated. This is why both have DNA and ribosomes
