Amiodarone inhibits the action of cytochrome P450 enzyme, clearance of many drugs may be reduced.
This includes:
Ciclosporin
Digoxin
Flecainide
Sildenafil
Simvastatin
Theophylline
Warfarin
What class of drug used for hayfever?
Histamine-1 antagonist
What are Histamine 2 antagonist used for and an eg?
Antacids eg. ranitidine
Cocaine
Mech of action?
MOA: cocaine blocks the uptake of dopamine, noradrenaline and serotonin
Management of cocaine toxicity
1) first line
2) If chest pain
3) If induces HTN
1) Benzos
2) Chest pain= Benzo + GTN if MI then PCI
3) Benzo + sodium nitroprusside
