phenobarbital and thiopental
mechanism: prolong GABA activity by increasing duration of Cl- channel opening with GABA mimetic acitivity - binding site on GABA A complex
what are the benzos? mechanism?
alprazolam, diazepam, lorazepam, midazolam, temazepam, oxazepam
mechanism: potentiate GABA by increasing the frequency of Cl- channel opening (GABA A)
