Lack of regard for society’s moral or legal standards
Antisocial Personality Disorder
“Grandiosity”; inflated sense of their own importance; Preoccupation with fantasies of success, power, brilliance, beauty or ideal love; Belief that they are so “special” that they should associate only with other special people who can understand them
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Display theatrical qualities in their everyday behavior
Histrionic Personality Disorder
Strongly drawn to others; Pervasive and excessive need to be taken care of; Submissive, clinging behavior and fear of separation
Dependent Personality Disorder
May appear to comply or act appropriately, but actually behaves negatively and passively resists.
Passive-Aggressive Personality Disorder
Pervasive pattern of preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, mental and interpersonal control at the expense of flexibility, openness, and efficiency
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
A chronic non-adaptive pattern of extreme perfectionism, preoccupation with neatness and detail, need for control or power over one’s environment that causes major suffering and stress, especially in areas of personal relationships
Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder
Experience a long-standing feeling of inadequacy and are extremely sensitive to what others think about them - will seek to avoid work, school and any activities that involve socializing or interacting with others
Avoidant Personality Disorder
Often has difficulty expressing emotions and does so typically in a very restricted range, especially when communicating with others.
Schizoid Personality Disorder
Extreme introversion, sensitivity, and eccentricity are the central features; Oddities of thought, perception, and speech are also present and similar to schizophrenia
Schizotypal Personality Disorder
Will nearly always believe that other people’s motives are suspect or even malicious.
Paranoid Personality Disorder
Pervasive pattern of instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image and emotions; are also usually very impulsive.
