Places of safety could be the cess or the ten foot
Never use the six foot as a place of safety, if you get caught there lay down flat parallel with the running lines
What is sighting time
The time from When you first see a train to when it reaches you in a place of safety
You must have at least 25 seconds continuous sighting time or 40 seconds if conditions make it slower and more difficult to reach a place of safety
What are the rules for crossing the track
Do not cross unless you have to
Always use a footbridge or subway if one is available
Always know where your position of safety is
Maintain sufficient walking and sighting time at all times
Take the safest shortest route
Step on the ballast not sleepers
Keep feet away from moving equipment
