Proclamation of 1753
Said that no colonists could go west of the Appalachian mountains, despite of the fact that after the French Indian war, they gained territory all the way to the Mississippi

A law that allowed British officials to search anything even without evidence. The reason 4th Amendment exists
End of Salutary Neglect
Salutary Neglect was the period where laws and stuff were not being enforced, and they started enforcing them in 1773
The Sugar Act
A law enacted by British to increase British revenues by preventing the smuggling of molasses into the American colonies and enforcing the collection of higher taxes

Law passed that required colonists to pay a tax, in the form of a stamp on various forms of papers, documents, and playing cards
The Quartering Act
Required the colonists to house British soldiers in barracks provided by the colonies. If the barracks were too small, they could occupy anywhere they wanted

Claimed that American colonists were equal to the British, protested taxation without representation, and stated that Parliament could not tax colonists
Declaratory Act
After the Stamp Act Congress, stated that British Parliament’s taxing authority was the same in America as in Britain
Boston Massacre
Street fight between a mob and British solider where 5 colonists were killed. Had a major effect on relations between Britain and American colonists
Gaspee Incident
HMS Gaspee was a ship. One day it got beached and colonists torched and looted it.
Boston Tea Party
American colonists dumped over 300 chests of tea into the harbor in a political protest
Intolerable Acts
A series of laws passed by Britain aimed to punish the American colonists after the Boston Tea Party. They included keeping the port it occurred at closed unit the people of Boston repaid the East India Company
Quebec Act
Allowed French colonists in Quebec to obtain good jobs in government and practice their style of law

Delegates from Britain came to the colonists to discuss the future of America in 1774
