Perfusion & Hypertension Flashcards
- O2 in pulmonary veins?
Oxygenated
- Blood flow of hepatic veins occurs?
From the liver to the vena cava
- Examples of right sided HF?
Hepatomegaly, hypertension, & peripheral edema
- Normal systolic pressure?
90-140 mmHg; 20 points is questionable
- Back flow from the arteries (pulmonary/aorta) separated by?
SL valves
- Normal heartbeat initiation of the heart?
SA Node
- S/S of left sided HF?
Dyspnea, pulmonary edema
- Left sided HF is damage to the?
Lungs
- Right sided HF is damage to the?
Heart
- What is aortic stenosis?
Blocked aorta
- What does aortic stenosis lead to?
Left ventricular hypertrophy
- What not to give to person with left ventricular hypertrophy?
Nitrates, nasogastric tubes
- What should the nurse assess in pt with v. tach?
LOC, BP, pulse
P wave represents?
Atrial function/depolarization
QRS wave represents?
Ventricular function/depolarization
T wave represents
Repolarization of atria
- S/S of thrombophlebitis?
Endothelial injury, increased coag, sluggish blood flow
- Pump failure leads to?
Cardiogenic shock
- S/S of uncontrolled HTN?
CVAs, renal injury, cardiac hypertrophy
- Cause of primary HTN?
Idiopathic
- Risk factors for orthostatic hypotension?
Increased age, ANS, bed rest, severe varicose veins
- What is an aneurysm?
Distended vessel
- Most reliable symptom for HTN?
Headache
- Nursing Dx for acute respiratory distress with facial trauma?
Impaired gas exchange
- Septic shock is caused by?
Infection
- Cardiogenic shock is caused by?
MI, HF
- Hypovolemic shock is caused by?
Dehydration, hemorrhage
- Neurogenic shock is caused by?
Spinal injury (above T7)
- Anaphylaxis is caused by?
Allergy
What is oncotic pressure?
Molecules that keep blood inside capillaries
An increase in hydrostatic pressure causes an increase in?
BP
- Hypovolemic shock is caused by?
Dehydration, hemorrhage
- Neurogenic shock is caused by?
Spinal injury (above T7)
- Anaphylaxis is caused by?
Allergy
What is oncotic pressure?
Molecules that keep blood inside capillaries
An increase in hydrostatic pressure causes an increase in?
BP
What is cardiac tamponade?
Built up fluid in the space between the pericardial activity (sac) & the heart
Initiation of the HR?
SA node 60-100, AV node 40-60, Purkinjee fiber’s 20-40
Formula for cardiac output?
SV x HR = CO
What is complicated HTN?
Chronic hypertensive damage to the walls of systemic blood cells. Smooth muscles cells undergo hypertrophy & hyperplasia w/ fibrosis of the tunica intima & media. Causes mechanical damage.
What is malignant HTN?
Rapidly progressive htn with DIASTOLIC pressure > 140 mmHg
