- The quality of training may not be as good as not carried out by an expert
- Employees might pick up bad habits from other workers
- Concentration may be poor due to work interruption

departments and can learn multiple

Training away from the organisation usually carried out by experts
What are the advantages of off-the-job training ?
- Usually higher quality of training as it is usually delivered by experts
- Employees have a higher level of concentration as less interruptions
- Provides the opportunity for employees to network with those from other organisation
What are the disadvantages of off-the-job training ?
- Cost of an external training course may be high
- productivity decreases due to time being spent away from the place of work
- Employees may learn skills that are not relevant to the business
