-> gave ships divinity of sea and commanded them to be nymphs and not ships

one of the nymphs transformed by Cybele who was the “wisest in speaking” and explained the situation

Turnus, the ruler of the Rutuli (Rutulians in English), opposing Aeneas; persuaded by Juno, he starts war with Aeneas

the Latins = from Latium, under rule of King Latinus;
-> because of Juno (and Allecto’s) meddling a fight breaks out between the Trojans and the Latins and many Latins are slain. As a result Latinus’s people beg him to fight the Trojans. Reluctantly he agrees and Turnus takes his people and the Latins
