Q

Why is the file draw problem a Limitation of peer review?

A

Peer review contributes to the file-drawer problem as research has shown that peer reviews are more likely to be publicised if findings are positive rather than negative findings. The negative research is left to be unpublished, and this effects the scientific process as scientists cannot learn from unpublished research.

Q

Why is the anonymity leading to a bias Limitation of peer review?

A

The reviewers remain anonymous meaning they may not be accountable for their decisions about what is published. As a result the peer reviewers could show bias in their decisions about whether or not they want to publish the research. It could challenge their own review.
