Q

Peer influences or peer selection

A

P-Both peer influence and peer selection affect addictive behaviour
E-Ennett ad Batman (1994)- found non smokers with smoking friends were more likely to start smoking (influence ) ad people also choose friends who shared their smoking habits (selection )
E- this means that peers can influence someone to start an addiction, but people also choose friends who have similar habits, making both important
