Tx of N/V with vertigo and nystagmus on exam?
meclizine
Oculovestibular response to cold water irrigation in ear?
slow devation toward side of stimulus with nystagmus and corrective back to mjidline.
COWS - direction of nystagmus
Findings in beta hemolytic strep?
sore throat, fever, anterior cervical adenopathy. No cough. palatal petechiae.
MCA stroke leads to?
contralateral hemiparesis with hemisensory loss, more so upper half
diabetic mononeuropathy sx?
diplopia, unilateral ptosis, inability to adduct, depress or elevate the eye with pupil sparing.
Visceral abdominal pain?
midline and bilateral, follows embryological origin
Earliest sign of superior vena cava syndrome?
facial swelling
Gilbert syndrome?
abnormal conjugation of bili, unconjugated bili
Where is virchow’s node/troisier’s node?
supraclavicular
Cause of peripheral cyanosis?
low cardiac output states, environmental exposure, arterial or venous occlusion, redistribution of blood flow
Typical presentation of myopathies?
skeletal muscle pain or weakness. prox muscles and tenderness. Reflex and sensation normal
Metabolic acidosis causes what respiratory response?
respiratory alkalosis, dyspnea and tachypnea
