What is included in obtaining screening measurements?
- Obtain patient’s height
- Obtain patient’s weight
- Calculate BMI
- Obtain patient’s waist circumference
- Obtain patient’s vital signs
What is included for testing vision?
Position patient 6m/20ft from chart
As patient to:
- Confirm no soft contacts lenses for 24, or hard
contacts lenses for 48
- Remove glasses
- Not to squint / lean forward
- Keep both eyes open
- Cover one eye and read from the top of the chart
- Read lines until they cannot read them
- Repeat with other eye, read lines backward
- Repeat the test if patient wears glasses
- Record visual acuity
- Document visual acuity
What is included in the audiogram test?
- Steps for set up
- Daily calibration
- Input new subject into database
- Assign patient to sound booth/ perform test
- Enter patient questionnaire into database
What is included in obtaining an ECG
- Explain procedure to patient
- Instruct not to cross legs, talk, and still
- Enter patient data into ECG machine
- Place precordial leads
- Place limb leads
- Obtain ECG
- Verify normal PQRST cycle
- Record results properly
What are the placement locations of precordial leads?
V1 – 4th Right intercostal space
V2 – 4th Left intercostal space
V3 – Halfway between V2 and V4
V4 – 5th Left intercostal space (Mid-Clavicular line)
V5 – Left anterior axillary line at V4 level
V6 – Left mid-axillary at V4 level
