A
- sit/ lie patient down
- elevate wound
- pressure (direct/ indirect)

what should you NOT do to try and stop bleeding
A
- use a tourniquet –> tissue damage
- removed embedded project –> stemming bleeding + further damage

A
- lowered blood pressure
- loss of consciousness
- pain
- varied symptoms

amputations
A
- treat patient for bleeding and shock
- seek medical help
- cover wound with sterile/ non-adherent dressing
- wrap amputated limb in bag - bag of ice to preserve

treatments of burns
A
- get person away from heat source
- cool the burn
- remove clothing/ jewellery
- make sure person keeps warm
- cover burn

treatment of fractures
A
- steady, support, immoblise
- upper limb - apply cast/ support
- lower limb - support from joint above to joint below injury
- dont allow them to eat or drink in case of need of operation
- seek medical attention

signs and symptoms of spinal injuries

- pain, tenderness in neck or back
- loss of control of limbs or below level of injury
- loss of feeling or power in limbs, pins and needed
- breathing difficulties
- incontinence

- hold head still with hands
