What is an adverb?
A
Adverbs - add meaning or information to the verb (action, quality or state)

What are the five (5) main types of adverbs?
- give an example of each
- how are they formed

Rule: Adjective + ..(ly). .. With exceptions
The five (5) types are:
- Manner - (eg. well, hardly)
- Place - (ie above, up, here, there)
- Time - (ie. now, then, soon, recently)
- Degree - (ie very, much, really, quite)
- Frequency - (ie once, twice, sometimes, always)

Where do adverbs go in a sentence?
A
- After the object of a transitive verb eg. He ate his lunch slow(ly)
- Place immediately after an intransitive verb eg. She was sleeping deep(ly)

Where do multiple adverbs go in a sentence?
A
Place–Manner–Time
eg. He will drive there tomorrow.
She is coming here tomorrow
