- calcium supplements
- milk products
- iron supplements
- magnesium containing laxatives
- most antacids (because they have magnesium and aluminum)
- administer 1 hour before or 2 hours after “chelating” agents (these are the things listed above

- can be toxic for pt’s with kidney disease
- tooth discoloration (do not give to kids with baby teeth or pregnant/breastfeeding women
- life threatening diarrhea
- caution with liver damage
