What is the direct monobrand store like?
A store of a specific brand, owned by the brand itself. The brand will directly manage the allocation of staff, goods and stock itself.
What is the franchising monobrand store like?
A store of a specificities brand managed by a third part, called the franchisee. This business model gives origins to chains of shops. The franchise will purchase and manage the stores goods. But the franchisor will share it’s know-how and best practises to allow the franchisees to carry out their work at best.
What is a specialist store?
Products with same target but different merchandising categories, within their own label.
ex. Zara, H&M, Uniclo, Gap, Muji
All specialist stores adress a specific target consumer. Only by differentiating it’s lines, the brand has the opportunity to broaden it’s range of customers.
What is a department store?
The first department store was Le Bon Marché founded in Paris. The peculiarity of all departments tres is to have a wide range of products collected in a single and wide selling space. Each country tends to have their own department store. Ex. UK: Harrods, Selfridges. US: Barneys, Bergdorf and Goodman, Macys. Japan: Isetan, Takashimaya. Germany: C&A, KadeWe
What is a multibrand store?
A store which offers a multiple choice of different brands. For ex. Merci (Paris), 10 Corso Como (milan), beams (Tokyo)
What is a mall?
The mall took over in those countries where the retail was virtually non-existent and the trade was carried out only through markets and small shops.
What is a outlet store?
A outlet store or factory outlet are usually manufacturer-branded grouped together. Usually fins previous collections at a more convenient price. Factory outlets have been around longer than usual outlet stores, and are usually placed close to the factories where the clothes are being produced.
What is E-commerce?
E commerce may indicate in different concepts.
- It can refer to all the sale transactions of goods and services made via Internet occurring between the producer and consumer.
- In the telecommunication it can also mean the set of applications dedicated to commercial transactions.
Which are the different types of E-commerce?
Business to business (B2B)
Business to consumer (B2C)
