ATPL eligibility

A
  • at least 21 years old
  • current CPL for appropriate cat of a/c (incl class 1)
  • current instrument rating
  • 1500 hours
    250 PIC (including 100 XC (25 at night))
    100 night PIC (or COP if AFM allows)
    75 instrument (50 flight time)
  • Valid written credits in;
    Law
    Navigation
    Flight planning
    Meteorology
    Instruments and navaids
    Human factors
    Advanced aerodynamics, performance, systems
  • Pass flight test

ATPL flight test requirements

A

Must be conducted on a XC, IFR flight in a a/c that is;
- multi engine MCTOW 5700kg or > or;
- a multi engine a/c acceptable to the director or;
- synthetic flight trainer approved for ATPL issue FT’s

ATPL privileges

A

For the same category for which the licence is granted and for which the pilot holds a type rating:
- all PPL/CPL privileges
- act as PIC of an a/c required to be operated with a CoP and engaged on an ATO or operation for hire or reward

  • demonstrated T/O + LDG competency to flight instructor during day in same a/c type (one LDG may be monitored LDG using AFCS)
