females: vulvovaginal swab for PCR;
males: first void urine (+ rectal swab if MSM with anorecepetive sex) for PCR
Invx for genital herpes
Swab for PCR of deroofed blister
Inx for syphillis
Microscopy of swab of lesions (look for spirochetes)
soldier patch and no abducting of arm
axillary nerve
loss of sensation to lateral forearm, weak elbow flexion, weak supination
musculocutaneous nerve damage
numbness, tingling + pain in lateral 3.5 digits, deep muscles of anterior forearm
Median nerve
‘claw hand’ cubital fossa (elbow) Guton’s canal (wrist)
Ulnar nerve
‘wrist drop’ (loss of extension of forearm), LOS at lateral and posterior forearm + posterior lateral 3.5 digits
Radial Nerve
Irresistible craving for food, Binges, morbid dread of being fat
Bulimia Nervosa
Self-induced weight loss + Body image disturbance (think they’re fat)
Anorexia Nervosa
dry mouth, hyperthermia, dilated pupils, tachypnea, with increased alertness and energy. Some patients may also complain of chest pain and palpitations.
Amphetamine Toxicity
pin point pupils, resp depression, comatose
Opioid Toxicity
person with poor vision + floaters
retinal detachment
Patient having difficulty walking downstairs due to vision
Vertical diploplia (CN4 palsy)
painful eye movements
optic neuritis
