- Diminished ability to think or concentrate.
- Recurrent suicidal thoughts

Diagnosis & Criteria
A
- Five or more symptoms have been present for two weeks.
- Symptoms result from changes in previous functioning.
- One symptom is either depressed mood, loss of significant distress, or malfunctioning.
- Symptoms are not attributable to other conditions and disorders.

Prevalence Rates
A
- Average 6.7% in 12 months.
- 8.5% in women.
- 4.7% in men
- The median onset age is the mid-20s.
- Recurrent disorder.
- Depressive episodes usually last 3-4 months.
