What is nociceptive pain?
The result of direct tissue injury.
-Somatic/visceral pain
What is somatic pain?
Superficial pain, well-localized and sharp
What is visceral pain?
internal pain, usually deep aches or cramping

Chronic pain: lasting more than 3 months

Pain with unknown mechanism
