When an officer perceives that a member of his command is behaving in an unusual or other than normal manner, proper notification shall be made and the following guidelines shall be followed

A
  • Notification will be in the form of a request to the Chief Medical Officer for a complete medical examination
  • Requests shall be placed in a sealed envelope marked “Confidential” and forwarded directly to the Chief Medical Officer at the Bureau of Health Services
  • If, in the opinion of the officer, the behavior of any member is such as to prevent a danger to the member or to anyone else, an immediate telephone call shall be made to the Bureau of Health Services during office hours or to the Emergency Operations Center at other times, requesting the presence of a medical officer
  • A phone call should also be made to the next higher level of command for relay as required

Supervisor Referral occurs when

A

An employee is ordered to CSU by a superior officer or manager. The administration or referring individual will be informed whether the employee is evaluated as having a problem needing treatment and whether the employee is in compliance or non compliance with the recommended treatment
