Who at the school site is responsible for completing the course of study?

Answer 1

For student on the gen ed curr, the counselor will print out the igp and then the iep team will determine what goes into the “additional courses/activities that may support postsecondary goals” box.

Question 2

For students on the alt curr, it is a school site decision who fills out the “Course of Study for Students on the alt curr” document. Logically, it should be someone with knowledge of what courses the student has already had and what they will be programmed into going forward.

The course of study form for students on the alt curr is prefilled, but can be change by erasing and typing new information into the form, allowing school sites discretion for how the student has been and will be programmed. The prefilled slots are reflective of REF-4160, Course Codes for High School Students with Disabilities Participating on the Alt Curr” but will not be accurate for every student.
