ITP Page 1 Flashcards
When determing if a student did or didn’t receive the listed services, are we answering whether they will receive them in the year to come or if they received them in the previous year?
The questions are asking if the student received the services anytime in the previous year.
The parent doesn’t want the student invited and they still have educational decision making rights. What do we do?
We MUST invite the student-the parents can decide if the student does not get to come, but an invitation is still sent. Hopefully, the parents will be amenable to the student attending at least the itp portion of their iep- this is where post-secondary planning begins and is an optimal way to begin teaching self-advocacy.
Is it ok to leave the “ student referred and placed in an outside agency” blank if we have no information about this?
If you don’t know if the student was referred and placed in an outside agency, it means you probably haven’t referred him to an outside agency, so the answer is “no.”
There is not penalty for answering “no” and there are many students who we do not refer to an outside agency. In other words, the answer is “yes” if the school is coordinating services with an outside agency. If the case carrier is not aware of coordinating services, then the answer is “no.”
