Why do we now have to invite outside agencies? Where is that written?
The requirement for the school to invite outside agencies currently or prospectively providing transition services is in federal and state law and is referenced in the District’s Policies and Procedures Manual (p52, p211). The notion that parents alone can invite outside agencies is not accurate. Remember, our role is to invite and we cannot predict or be responsible for outside agency’s actual attendance. Parents are encouraged and welcome to invite outside agencies as well, but that does not negate our responsibility to invite outside agencies when we have been given prior parental permission.

Will we be able to lock the iep if we do not check yes on all boxes at the bottom of page 3?
No, you cannot lock the iep unless you check yes for all the boxes. If you cannot answer yes, you need to reconvene. Theses are not requirements made up by the district, but federal law.
