Management of transient synovitis?
NSAIDs, + rest + review.
How does Perthes present?
Boys age 4-9, limp, pain in hip or knee.
Positive trendelenbug test, usually more active children.
SUFE presentation?
Male aged 10-16, fat, limp, pain or knee pain.
Any teenager who cannot weight bear is SUFE until proven otherwise.
X ray sign ins SUFE??
Trethomowans sign.
Management of club foot?
Ponseti technique.
Supracondylar area of the humerus is very weak in children
Very common fracture between age 5-7
What is a greenstick fracture?
Incomplete fracture of the diaphysis of the radius.
Note diaphysis is shaft of the bone.
Management = cast + closed manipulation.
What is a radial buckle fracture?
occur within the metaphysis.
Arise due to compression fo one side of the bone.
management = splint for3 weeks
