Methylphenidate - 6 week trial
- Dopamine/norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitor
Methylphenidate side effects
Abdo pain
Nausea
Dyspnoea
Cardiotoxic - Baseline ECG required
Monitor weight and height every 6 months
Bulimia nervosa
Binge eating followed by intentional vomiting or other purgative behaviours
- Laxatives
- Diuretics
- Exercise
Bulimia nervose diagnosis
- Recurrent episodes of binge eating
- Lack of control during episode
- Recurrent inappropriate compensatory behaviours
- Both occur once a week for 3 months
- Self-evaluation unduly influenced by bodyweight
- Disturbance does not occur exclusively during episodes of anorexia nervosa

Febrile convulsions presentation

Early in viral infection - Temperature rises rapidly
Brief - Lasting less than 5 minutes
