transposition of the great arteries, tetrology of fallot
What are the symptoms of cyanotic heart disease?
cyanosis, acidosis, collapse, tachypnoea, poor feeding, failure to thrive
What are common septal defects?
ventricular septal defects, atrial septal defects, atrio-ventricular septal defects, patent ductus arteriosis
What is the murmur of ASD?
Ejection systolic murmur, loudest in pulmonary area
What are the symptoms of septal defects?
poor feeding, failure to thrive, tachypnoea, oedema, hepatomegaly
What is the most common congenital heart defect?
VSD
What are some symptoms of ocngenital heart defects?
respiratory distress with feeds, cyanosis, hepatomegaly, sweating during feeds
not vomiting
Which type of murmurs are never innocent?
Diastolic murmurs
What is ITP?
low platelets
What is beta thalassaemia?
a series of inherited blood disorders that results in reduced or absent beta chains in Hb- can vary from asymptomatic to severe anaemia
