P10.5 Elasticity Flashcards

1
Q

What is an elastic object

A

An object that regains it shape when forces deforming it are removed.

The energy that causes it to deform are stored as elastic energy which is released when the force is removed

Q

How to find force applied

A

F (N) = k(N/m) x ^X (m)

Force applied = spring constant x extension (final length - original length)
