Juxtaposition of 2 phrases
“Ye mighty despair , nothing besides remains”
First phrase displays Ozymandias as authoritative and in control however following the phrase up with the next one emphasises the futility of human power
Also the latter phrase ditches pentameter reflecting the loss of Ozymandias’s power
His time has passed
“Antique land “
First description we get of where Ozymandias comes from. Poet immediately cements the idea in our heads that his land is old using the adjective Antique and that his power has dissipated
ABAB
Rhyming begins with the ABAB scheme but eventually the scheme is dropped . Done deliberately to reflect Ozymandias’ loss of power
Alliteration
“Boundless and bare”
Alliteration emphasizes that the man has truly lost everything
