A

an SpO2 < 94% on air (exception - patients at high risk and the neonatal resuscitation section)
> an airway obstruction
> respiratory distress (exception - patients at high risk)
> shock
> severe traumatic brain injury
> smoke inhalation
> carbon monoxide poisoning
> a condition requiring sedation to be administered
> decompression illness.
